The colors are bright and very pretty together. The light display is one of the best I've seen for this kind of night light so far. My daughter and I love sitting back at night watching the colors and wishing on the shooting stars while she swaps through the remote light settings. Both she and I just wish we could change the star color from just the green, and it would be great if there were more colors to choose from overall. The unit is fairly easy to use once you figure out the remote. Not having instructions for the unit or remote made the initial process more difficult than it had to be.
The stars and aurora borealis can move quickly, medium, mild or stay still. Unlike other projectors, there are not set lasers on the ceiling. If you set it to "move", everything will move. There are different settings for color on the aurora borealis only. We personally use the blue/green, as it's calming to sleep. The brightness can change from bright (for the ones scared of the dark), to dim enough to sleep in when you don't need a nightlight. This will project on the walls and ceiling of a medium-sized room. Easy to use and quiet. You can hear the motor running slightly, but much quieter than an a/c or clock.
